Step 1: Prepare the Brewer
- Empty the water reservoir and remove any coffee
pods or K-Cups from the machine.
- Choose a descaling method:
- Keurig Descaling ... Pour entire bottle into an empty water
reservoir. Then fill the empty bottle with water and pour into the
water reservoir.
- Vinegar ... Fill the reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and
cold water. (2 cups each is sufficient)
- Place a large mug under the brewer.
Step 2: Descale the Brewer
- The brewer MUST be plugged in and powered off.
- Press and hold the 8oz and 12oz buttons together for 3
seconds. The word "DESCALE" will light up in the window and the "K"
(brew button) will start flashing.
- When flashing, press the BREW button to start the descaling
process.
- Once the brew completes a cycle, pour the hot liquid into the sink.
- Place the mug back beneath the brewer.
- Repeat this step until the ADD WATER light illuminates.
Step 3: Fresh Water Rinse
- Empty and rinse the water reservoir and refill to the MAX fill
line with fresh water.
- When flashing, press the BREW button to start the rinsing
process.
- Once the brew completes a cycle, pour the hot liquid into the sink.
- Place the mug back beneath the brewer.
- Repeat this step until the DESCALE notification turns off.
- The brewer has now exited the Descale Mode and will be ready to use!
